Young Carer Welcome Page
Thank you for supporting your young carer
We’ve received a referral for your child/young person to Young Carers support at Sunderland Carers Centre.
This page explains what happens next and lets you complete a short consent and information form so we can begin safely and quickly.
Quick “Next steps”:
- Complete the Parent/Carer Consent & Information Form below (5–10 minutes).
- We’ll contact you to confirm details and arrange a first conversation.
- Access resources below while you’re waiting.
To offer the right support, we need your consent and a little information about your family and your child’s caring role.
2. What support might look like:
- 1:1 support
- Groups and activities (monthly sessions, school-holiday activities)
- Help with understanding the caring role and feeling less alone
- Signposting to benefits, SEND, mental health and community support
- Support for the whole family
Support is tailored. Not every family will need the same level of contact, and we’ll agree next steps with you.
