Inclusion North - Family Carer's Survey

Inclusion North logoInclusion North are asking people who are carers and / or family members of people with a learning disability to take part in a short survey.

They are doing this so they can find out what life is like for people who are carers and whether your life has got better.

They will use the information to inform their work with councils and health services more broadly as well as understanding how their work with family carers can be more useful.

Wake Up to Caring and Take Part in Britain's Best Breakfast!

Britain's Best Breakfast logoToday new research by Carers UK urges the UK to 'wake up' to the realities of caring.

Only 23% of adults with living parents polled by YouGov for Carers Trust said they had talked with their parents about future care arrangements and a third (34%) have no idea how they would pay for any future care needs.

People need to plan for the care of their loved ones in later life. Three in five of us will become a carer at some point in our lives - often to our parents.

The charity commissioned the research to highlight its Britain's Best Breakfast fundraising campaign to raise money to support the UK's seven million unpaid carers.

To help support carers in Sunderland please hold a breakfast event and donate to Sunderland Carers' Centre, a Network Partner of Carers Trust. Whether it is tea and toast with work colleagues, cereal at the school breakfast club or a fry up with family and friends, it all helps.
