Stephen and Carl's 1000 mile Charity Challenge
In July 2015 Stephen Roberts and Carl Hackles are cycling 1000 miles from Lands End to John O'Groats over 6 days to raise money for Sunderland Young Carers, Forward Assist and MacMillan Cancer Research. They have set a target of raising £8000!
Stephen and Carl are asking people to make a donation and guess how long it will take them to do the 1000 miles in hours, minutes and seconds. They have prizes for those who guess closest. Below are the links to their facebook page and fundraising page.
Sunderland Carers' Centre would like to thank Stephen and Carl for undertaking this amazing challenge in order to raise funds on behalf of our work with young carers.
Please show them your support and give a donation. Thank you.

Caring and Social Isolation
8 in 10 carers in Sunderland feel socially isolated
Today at the Canine Companions Dog of the Year Show Sunderland Carers' Centre revealed the findings of an online survey completed by 91 carers about how they are affected by social isolation.
80% of these carers said they feel alone, lonely or isolated some or all of the time.
One of the aims of Sunderland Carers' Centre's 21st anniversary year is to raise awareness about the impact that social isolation can have on carers in Sunderland.
